According to research commissioned by Avanade, less than half of U.S. and Canadian enterprises surveyed are satisfied with the impact of current collaborative and communication technologies including email, intranets and video conferencing.
Correspondingly, in a recent
Coleman Parks survey on Digital Collaboration, nearly all of the 400 CIOS and IT Directors surveyed see significant benefits in the new wave of collaboration and communication technologies, and plan to invest in such technologies as enterprise search tools, virtual workspaces, and voice over IP.
These trends, coupled with new, powerful, and cost-effective technologies, have lead Avanade to believe that over the next five years, digital collaboration represents the area of IT with the greatest potential for improving business performance.
